More Delays...

The closing on the property was supposed to happen sometime between March 15 and March 18. Since that is now less than a week away, it's only natural that something else would happen to delay closing yet again.

Earlier this week, we were informed that the Bank wanted the water lines to be winterized, since the property has been unoccupied all winter. There was a leak (beneath the house) under the kitchen sink, which apparently had not been fixed. When the repairman started to clear the water out of the pipes, he blew out the water line where the leak had been. Fortunately, the Bank has agreed to pay for the repair to the pipes, but there is no telling how long this may delay closing. We should find out more on Monday. I am not sure that my patience has increased during all of this, but the opportunities to exercise it are abundant.

On the bright side, Spring is finally making a tentative return. This week we have had plenty of bright, sunny days with nothing but blue skies. Temperatures have been warm enough to start melting all of the snow and ice that has graced us since early November. We are looking forward to settling into our new home, planting our garden and beginning our homestead.
