It has been nearly two weeks since I last posted an update on our progress with the purchase of our house. Quite frankly, I haven't had the heart to. Anything I would have said would have been rather negative...more so than normal.
While I will briefly update the status of our closing, that isn't really what this post is about. As I write this, it is Saturday night (the 23rd), the night before Resurrection Day, more commonly known as "Easter". Tomorrow is also my 26th birthday.
This is a blog about our new venture into rural living. While it may be presumptuous to call it a homestead at this point, that is our goal. We intend to turn our 5 acre property into a functioning homestead. We still have a long way to go, so we will chronicle our progress here. We will also talk about our Faith, family and the day to day joys and trials that come with living "The Good Life".

Hoops and Headaches...
For those of you who have been following this blog for the past month and a half, I have shocking news. Closing has been delayed again. I realize that has been just about the only thing I've ever had to say on this blog, but hopefully that will change someday soon.
At least the update didn't say something along the lines of "We won't be able to buy the house at all now...", like I was afraid I was going to have to say earlier today.
